San Francisco-based producer / Icee Hot boss Ryan Merry is back with another under his Ghosts On Tape name, complete with an insane rework from Innerspace Halflife. ‘Only Now’, with its rapid-fire stabs and layered percussion, is a straight-faced, dance floor killer. ‘Snake Box’ almost does away with melody altogether, making up for tunefulness with a full-on drum assault that builds in intensity. Not to be outdone, Chicago duo Innerspace Halflife turn out their remix of the latter tune, adding whole new dimensions of depth between throbbing synths and sweeping pads.
