Psychedelic knob-manoeuvres from Australian duo Flat Fix, making their Not Not Fun debut. Flat Fix is Nick Senger and Cooper Bowman, Newcastle natives with a shared noise background, and An Unkempt House is the pair’s first transmission since forming and transitioning to improvisational electronics. Opener ‘Cerulean’, a woolly house groove that morphs constantly for 12 plus minutes, is a perfect introduction to their unhurried, organic sound. On ‘Information Doubles’, ominous sub bass and bright synths intertwine over big, crisp drum work, while ‘Hope To Cope’ is another slow-burning 4/4 rhythm.
