Massachusetts-based rapper Reks releases his eighth studio album on Brick Records. Designed as a concept album around the dichotomies of good and evil, Eyes Watching God splits into two sides with the first representing God and the second revolving around the devil, the contrast emerging on a lyrical rather then a sonic level. Hazardis Soundz has had a hand in the production – the melancholic feel of his beats continue throughout the album. Largely based around piano, string and mallet sounds, he creates an exigent atmosphere, supporting Reks’ determined and articulate rapping style.
