London label Hypercolour - active since 2006 - unleash the fifth volume in their 'Hypercolour Patterns' series, demonstrating just what a strong force the label continues to be when it comes to putting out exemplary club-focused electronic music. There are plenty of great moments here, from the opening shuffle of Bristol artists Kommon and Arkist's 'Brookfield', to Mosca's rumbling 'Eva Mendes' and Eliphino's simmering slow-burner 'I Don't Care'. The two remixes included provide definite highlights, with Maya Jane Coles competently adding muscle to Alex Jones' 'Wholegrain' and Deetron rounding of the compilation with a stomping take on George Fitzerald's 'Every Inch'.
