London four-piece Woman’s Hour release their debut on Secretly Canadian. Named after the BBC radio programme, the quartet explore the boundaries between indie pop and shoegaze. Fiona Burgess’ soothing vocals are slightly breathless, but they are also full-bodied enough to never seem overcome by haziness, the abstract emotional stories she tells captivatingly intimate. The production on Conversations is as unerring as its lyrical content. Subtle, yet dynamic, Woman’s Hour gently stir together their electric guitar chords, careful drums and soft synths to create a next level lo-fi sound.
