Three seriously heavy techno jams on Berlin's Token Records - think straight-up dance floor business. 'Charge', from Copenhagen's Troels Knudsen aka Ctrls, offers a grounding in weighty beats topped off with undulating mechanical riffs and chops. Rrose goes deep, a lengthy beat-less intro teasing out those droning soundscapes, before layering squelch and sludge atop even meatier percussion. Finally, Rich Oddie adds reverbed beats and syncopated echoes to distorted squawk on his take, as murky sounds and dark rhythms come together for peak-time flair.
