British singer-songwriter Eugene McGuinness returns to his familiar outpost Domino Records with his fourth LP Chroma. In contrast to the polished pop feel of his previous full length The Invitation To The Voyage, Chroma looks to go back to basics with an added spontaneous edge. Bulking out the rhythm section and adding some grungy lo-fi aesthetics are Tom Herbert and Leo Taylor from The Invisible with their punchy guitar riffs adding extra weight to the retro-tinged, direct cut ‘Godiva’.
