The Acid are singer/songwriter RY X, and producers Steve Nalepa and Adam Freeland. Together they make spacious, hazy pop music - think somewhere between the nocturnal intimacy of The xx and James Blake's fragile, electronic soul. On tracks like 'Ra' they use space to highly emotional effect, dream-like melodies rising up from bare guitar strums. 'Fame' patters with a melancholic, electro groove, while the atmospheric noise of 'Tumbling Lights' draws the listener closely into their, deep, hallucinatory world of abstracted sounds.
