Italian beat maker duo Tufo release their debut EP on London’s Five Easy Pieces. With their warm instrumental textures, their cosy sound nods affirmatively to the legacy of Los Angeles. Humming synths and Italian voice samples form the narratives of their looping song structures, adding an undeniable human quality to the mix. Attended by constant tambourine rattling, ‘Chocolate Castles’ stomps forward stubbornly. The title track features glittering electro piano passages and a nasal lead synth melody. ‘Hayao’ draws upon a charmingly stumbling beat, its jazzy strumming a standout moment.
