My Panda Shall Fly’s Tropical perfectly conveys the environment of its title. Released by crate digging label Soundway, musician and visual artist Suren Seneviratne’s latest project mixes live instrumentation with electronics to evoke an exotic soundscape. As a whole its difficult to situate within a specific culture or tradition: its sonic palette draws on both South American and Asian music. Seneviratne combines a huge range of folk instrumentation with minimal electronic rhythms, noise and other effects to a create his own unique take on a natural environment.
