The NovaMute label brings a seminal techno release back to wax for the first time in a while with this special 20th Anniversary Edition of Collabs 3000’s Metalism LP. The first official collaboration between Chris Leibing and Speedy J, Metalism was something of a more straight-ahead departure from the work each was cooking up solo, though these fierce dancefloor destroying productions still bare plenty of abstraction. The gargantuan ‘Triflon’ finds a home somewhere between Detroit electro and lab contamination siren, while the hardcore of ‘Acid Trezcore’ still sounds prime to blast a hole through any poor subwoofer put to task. A fresh remaster adds some much needed bite without sacrificing any of the trademark grittiness, as well.
