Orphan Swords return to Desire with their latest take on industrial infused techno. The Brussels-based duo consists of Bozar Electronic Arts Festival curator Maze and Yannick Franck, founder of the Idiosyncratics imprint, on which they previously released a handful of EPs. With their unrefined aesthetic, their experimental sound fits right into the Desire catalogue: monotonous electric guitars scrape their way through vocals that roughen the overall impression with a healthy amount of distortion. The sturdy, slightly dissonant synth textures break through the mechanic beats, creating an industrial atmosphere that is reminiscent of the machine sounds of the 1970s.
