French production duo Souleance resurface with a tropical EP for First Word Records. Jogar abducts us to the South American continent with funky takes on classical rhythms. ‘Segredos Do Samba’ approaches with its joyful samba beat and polyphonic hooks, and doesn’t deny itself a jazzy electric piano solo. The drums in ‘Novo Mundo’ nod to hip hop, but are given a South American twist through tambourine sounds. ‘Vem Jogar’ sees the duo use their trademark instrument: a deep and rich synthesizer grounding its ever so jaunty melody.
