Yves Tumor and NINA (of rising London-based Matador outfit Bar Italia) have unveiled a new single and accompanying video, “WE DONT COUNT,” via Warp Records — a mercurial collaboration that marks Yves’ first formal release since 2023’s Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds) — a record hailed by Pitchfork, The Guardian, NPR, CLASH and more as their most accomplished and cohesive expression to date.

“WE DONT COUNT” is less a duet than a shared hallucination — a hook-dense piece in which Yves Tumor and NINA lean into bass-driven post-punk, melding propulsive rhythm with serrated guitar stabs and hypnotic vocal melodies, unveiling a new side to both artists’ oeuvres. While “WE DONT COUNT” marks their first official collaboration, the effortlessly reciprocal qualities of NINA and Yves’ vocal performances grant the song a feeling of inevitability.

The song marks a fitting follow up for Yves Tumor’s Praise A Lord…: itself a daring collision of glam rock, noise, R&B, and religious ecstasy that Rolling Stone described as “unclassifiable and utterly magnetic.” Followed by the To Spite Or Not To Spite world tour, which yielded a cavalcade of emphatic reviews from NYLON, Stereogum, the Guardian, and beyond, the album cemented Tumor as not just a visionary songwriter, but as a generational performer — blurring gender, genre, and era.

Meanwhile NINA is her own brand of musical shapeshifter: London-based, Rome-born, and quietly cultivating one of the most singular visions in the underground. In 2025 alone, she’s already dropped the singles “TWINK” and “Till the devil gets bored,” as well as Discordia — a collaborative EP with fellow Roman artist Orazio. Most recently, she composed the original score for her debut long-form film The Richest Man in Babylon, a disquieting meditation on the psychic and ecological fallout of modern austerity. Her work navigates personal and systemic collapse with seduction, silence, and precision.

Now, in each other, NINA and Yves Tumor have found a kindred spirit: a fellow shapeshifter and architect of mood. “WE DONT COUNT” is available on all platforms via Warp Records.
