Oslo duo Of Norway deliver on the promise of early singles on their very accomplished full-length debut. On Accretion, the pair skillfully blend deep house grooves with lush live instrumentation. Beatless intro ‘Yours Is A History Of Violence’ and ‘Some To Forget’ swell with rich acoustic guitar. The soulful shuffle of ‘Spirit Lights’ is fleshed out with elegant piano, while ‘Two Black Cats’ stuns with dual guitars and a captivating female vocal. There’s no shortage of killer house tunes either. Standouts include the expansive, guitar-led title track, stargazing acid hybrid ‘Love Is Over’ and dub-tech infected ‘Trampoline’.
