Born out of years of friendship, this collaboration sees Peter Broderick and Greg Haines explore their shared aesthetic. Ambient forerunners Erased Tapes prove to be a perfect fit for the duo: the mini album is composed of airy sound collages that they have mainly crafted with tape delays, reel-to-reel machines and an assembly of synthesizers. Peter Broderick shows off his melodic falsetto in the intimate ‘Electric Eel River’; contrasted by its bubbling dub elements creeping up on the loose acoustic guitar chords. Off-beat experiments dominate the second half of the album. ‘February Space Duet’ conveys the duo’s idea of freedom of space, disposing of any structural templates, giving the harmonies time to evolve before introducing new elements.
