Discrepant presents two collages from Ergo Phizmiz, works joined together in truly evocative style by this innovative composer. Eschewing the computer from his work, the UK-based experimentalist has taken works from artists such as Peggy Lee and Erik Satie and thrown them against each other with a view to creating a wholly new palette of sound. On the second track, Miles Davis and Igor Stravinsky meet Allen Ginsberg and Javanese gamelan (a hypnotic form of percussion-based music from Indonesia) for a fascinating mixture of epochs and sonics.
