Karl O’Connor aka Regis offers up a pair of alternate takes of ‘Blood Witness’, a standout cut on his well-received In A Syrian Tongue 12”. The original track is brutal and relentless, the soundtrack to a futile foot chase through an industrial wasteland. The extended mix is noticeably different, eschewing creeping drones and atmospherics in favour of a heavier drum mix that all but suffocates any tuneful elements. The alternate edit is equally devoid of melody, highlighting the labyrinthine drum pattern and dub undertones.
