Belgian producer Laurent Baudoux drops his Sun OK Papi K.O. moniker for his first EP on Vlek Records as Lawrence Le Doux. ‘Terrestre’ is an EP of contrasts. Happy, flute-like synths and pleasantly dissonant harmonies mix on the unconventional opener; ‘Afruita’ progresses into surprisingly acidic fields, while the rest of the EP is firmly situated in the deep house corner. Glittery strumming and muffled hi-hats show the bass to its best advantage in ‘Astre’, and the B-side shines by juxtaposing the tidy ‘Chorus’ against the significantly denser ‘Terre’.
