A classic compilation from UK techno / post-punk label Downwards released in 2012, and now available as a download. It's a collection that perfectly demonstrates the label's stark, dark aesthetic, with the focus more on the gritty post-punk side of the label's output, drawing on a number of tracks from their DO series. The dizzy, tunnelling punk of Death Day sits comfortably alongside the hallucinatory shoegaze of Pink Playground, the crisp cold wave of Tropic Of Cancer, the dark art pop of V West and Antonym's Cabaret Voltaire-esque 'Return To Normal'.
