Fisherman are comprised of Martin Skogehall and Thomas Jaldermark, and on their debut album Patterns and Paths - released through Skudge Records – they take the grim mysteries of the ocean as the starting point and inspiration for a sterling collection of bass heavy and dark techno, that crucially always remains immanently danceable. This is a varied mix of heady visceral techno that covers considerable ground with even more considerable aplomb. Things never become too diffuse as a consistent and irrepressible sense of propulsive rhythm ties everything back together.
