Inga Copeland, (formerly) of famed experimentalists Hype Williams alongside Dean Blunt, drops Because I'm Worth It, her self-released full length. Running the gamut of weird electronics, from straight-up, club-worthy beats to skittish, eastern-influenced vignettes, it's a thorough insight into this visionary producer's mind. Opener 'Faith OG' sees Copeland bombard listeners with plodding drone and harsh upper-register frequencies, a blast of sonic force to be reckoned with. 'Advice To Young Girls', produced by Actress, sees Copeland offer a modern-day sermon on best behavior. 'Fit 1' features Copeland's wistful singing, blending accordion-like solos and syncopated beats with haunting synth arpeggios. Closer 'L'Oreal' (of course), with its unconventional beat patterns and scorched vistas, demonstrates the true veracity of the album's title. Copeland is definitely worth it.
