L.I.E.S regular Gunnar Haslam lands on another New York institution, Mister Saturday Night, for another exploratory release entitled Let A Hundred Flowers Bloom. The opening title cut is seriously heady, with a doomsday Klaus Schultz styled synth drone dominating and an interesting South East Asian sounding sample buried deep underneath. Flipping over, ‘Discouraged’ is equally immersive but offering a working, broken beat whilst ‘Denominzione Version’ gives off a strong sci-fi feel with its gyrating, machine-like rhythm and rising string backing.
