After almost three years UK producer Sully returns with an extensive jungle release on London’s Keysound Recordings. Whereas his debut explored the likes of footwork, juke and 2-step, Blue sees Sully take a nostalgic approach to classic jungle. The inspiration for the double EP dates back to Sully’s experience of DIY jungle parties in the early '00s, and the raw and nervous feel of Blue reflects their vibe. The crumbling sound of the breakbeats worships the work of the genre’s pioneers, but the echoing synths and hazy vocal samples make sure it doesn’t sound out of time. Fellow Keysound mate Logos provides a beatless vapour dub version of the EP’s title track.
