Following a steady stream of solid, danceable EPs, three-piece production outfit Pittsburgh Track Authority deliver their debut LP Enter The Machine Age. Dealing in sturdy, floor-centric beats the Pittsburgh Track Authority cover a range of emotions and textures without ever loosing sight of their persistent groove. Opening track ‘Genta’ roars off as a potent breakbeat with added chords, claps and bursts of sub-bass taking over, whereas ‘Give Me A Chance’ and ‘Broader Disco’ charter much deeper territory. ‘Cutthroat’ threads a mutating acid riff into some more driving, melodic elements that resembles something from Legowelt’s locker whilst the long-drawn synth strings of ‘Fourth River’ sit closer to Joey Anderson’s house/techno hybrids.
