Almost two years after its release, Nídia and Valentina Magaletti’s celebrated collaboration Estradas receives a generous suite of remixes transforming their already expansive and kinetic tracks. From the imposing baile funk of DJ Anderson do Paraíso with icy chord stabs and murkily switching beats, to Cosmic Analog Ensemble’s funk of the heavy bass licks, suave Rhodes, and frothing jazz drums kind, these artists reimagine Estradas in vastly, excitingly different ways. The original drilling, growling, guttural industrial soundscape of ‘Nasty’ gives way to Fauzia's bouncing dancefloor drum machines, sitting at a crossroads between visceral punctuating beats in the album's first half, and the breezier, more formless shuffles of the second.
