Riton returns to Ed Banger with yet another mind-boggling EP. Reinterpreting the French house legacy with muffled 80s drum machines and funky vocals by French singer Irfane (‘The Same’), the producer adopts an openly humorous approach to the genre’s history. The rest of the EP follows Riton’s signature sound of jagged and bold electro. Reliable as ever, the synthesizers are bang on a cracked beat in ‘Aloha Surfers’, whereas ‘Hermes Yacht Club’ leans towards acid house. Spank Rock’s intimidating vocals rival the mighty beat and even manage to scare away the crying sirens on ‘Lost In Sound’.
