French pianist Vanessa Wagner returns to the InFiné label for a deep dive into the work of minimalist godhead Phillip Glass. A renowned musician and key architect in modern classical music in her own right, Wagner has more recently set her sights on minimalism and early ambient music, taking tours through the works of legends like Brian Eno, Ryūichi Sakamoto, and now of course Phillip Glass. This box sex gathers 20 takes on Glass’ infamous piano “etudes”, moving from aggressive staccato-style playing to soothing, near ambience and back again armed with nothing more than her piano and the natural sound of the room it was standing within.
