Function (formerly of Sandwell District) teams up with Inland for this stunning, sci-fi indebted release on this first release from own label Infrastructure since 2006. It's closer in sound to the swirling, melancholy electronica of the '90s than the harder techno Function is best know for. Opening track 'Odeon' takes inspiration from Photek's beat-less masterpiece 'Under The Palms', reinterpreting the track (with Photek's blessing), into a beautifully percussive piece of widescreen electronica. On the b-side 'Rhyl' takes clear inspiration from the canny electronic sounds of early '90s Warp and Skam for a skittering, but playful offering.
