Anticon co-founder Brendon Whitney returns as Alias with his most nocturnal album to date. On this fifth solo album, the Maine-based hip hop producer takes a new compositional approach. Having previously worked with MPC, for Pitch Black Prism, Whitney uses a Native Instruments Maschine to create his left-field electronic beat structures. The clean and openly digital production radiates a shivery cold aura that is taken up by the haunting reverberant vocal sounds, while sharp synths cut through the instrumental beat textures. Doseone stays in character with the only vocal appearance on the album, extolling on capitalism in his pressing voice.
