The late DJ Rashad’s first posthumous release since his tragic death comes via new, Texas-based imprint Southern Belle Recordings in the form of the We On 1 EP. The release opens with the stripped title track, with juddering bass stabs congealing into a rampant, low-end throb complimented by the producer’s chopped vocals and sharp 808 claps whilst the following number ‘Come On Girl’ features frequent collaborator DJ Spinn for another ghetto-tinged slice of footwork lunacy. Flipping over, Gant-Man joins in for the ingenious ‘Somethin But The Thing U Do’ where a sample from the Chaka Khan 'I Feel For You’ is tastefully dissected and re-arranged into a hyperactive onslaught of ricocheting juke rhythms.
