"The past is never dead. It's not even past," wrote William Faulkner, and for Joshua Bonneta sound waves never die. This sonic experimentalist journeyed to the original transmission sites of Guglielmo Marconi's first transatlantic radio broadcast and captured site-specific field recordings, hoping to capture those historical waves for himself. With expansive compositions made up of those field recordings, radio transmissions and archive material, he's created a work as challenging intellectually as it is emotionally. Furthermore, this double-vinyl release comes accompanied by its visual counterpoint, a film recorded at the two transmission sites.
