Chicago post-rock figureheads Tortoise continue their much-needed return to action with a new remix package out on International Anthem. The tightly-wound, almost funky ‘Oganesson’ marked the group’s first new music in nearly a decade, and the band takes a victory lap here with several friends in tow as they ready a full length LP on IA later this year. The activist poet Saul Williams adds by subtraction, pulling out the drums and most of the air as he lends spoken word to the proceedings, while Broken Social Scene on the other hand flip ‘Oganesson’ into a soothing bit of downtempo electronica.
