Three tracks of intricately programmed electronica on Svreca's tireless Semantica Records. Spanish producer Aiken, who's equally influenced by techno from either side of the Atlantic, navigates that murky area between pounding club tracks and melodic IDM. 'Dismal' is the opposite of its title, as gorgeous arpeggios hover above pummelling kick patterns. 'Gathered' appropriately assembles the disparate elements this producer plays with, the airy techno bass-lines, the crisp yet reverbed synth work, and makes an unsettling dance floor number. 'Restless' is as unrelenting as its title suggests, powered forward by powerful kicks and claps and imbued with beauty by its swollen synth line. This track gets the remix treatment from Juho Kusti, who takes those original elements and adds even more power and depth.
