Swiss born Joke Lanz (a.k.a. Sudden Infant) has been on the precipice of musical insanity since 1989. The enfant terrible is as prolific as his music is bonkers, i.e. very. He has bags of releases to his name on experimental labels from Europe to Japan, armed with musical style every bit as adventurous as his international excursions. Focusing on a very analogue production style, his sound is equal parts deranged and blissful. This limited-to-250-copies 7” entitled ‘What Am I Doing Here,’ released via Gang Of Ducks, is as disorientating and disorientated as the title suggests, all frenzied laughter and hallucinatory drones.
