Dutch techno master Dave Huismans (of 2562 / A Made Up Sound fame) returns to his other alias ex_libris for the second entry in a new self-released 12” series. With tracks numbered by their completion order (and then given a subname) it’s safe to assume we’ll get plenty more from this project, which is a delight. 002 opens with ‘#3 (Running Out)’, a grooved up hand drum style stomper who’s chiming hi hats recall water rushing out of a faucet, while the closing ‘#32 (Walrus)’ pairs dense, almost shoegaze-like textures against a tricky broken beat to nice effect.
