Brooklyn-based minimal electronics duo Xeno & Oaklander team up with Ghostly International for new LP Par Avion - their first for the imprint. It's an exercise in contrast, forging frigid, synthesizer-heavy backdrops offset with warm vocals. Opening piece ‘Interface’ launches off with a bold drumbeat and repeating melody but it's the vocal interlocking of duo Wendelbo and McBride that give extra texture. Similarly upbeat is ‘Sheen’ which utilises more intricate synth detailing coupled with airy vocals whereas title track ‘Par Avion’ drops the pace and is packed with rich, dramatic strings and electrified arpeggios.
