Brighton-based Planet Mu affiliate Ital Tek follows up his Civil Music debut EP Hyper Real with another release for the label entitled Mega City Industry. Here, Ital Tek picks apart the bones of jungle, footwork and Chicago house and refocuses as future-leaning IDM structures. Off first are the heavy electrified stomps of title piece ‘Mega City Industry’ with the warm chord rushes and light speed arpeggios of ‘Shinra’ following. On the other side ‘Swap Beast’ fixes clanging industrial percussion and falling Chicago toms to a skittering footwork beat whereas ‘Universal Decay’ rounds up with its sci-fi aura.
