Veteran break-core producer Michael Castaneda aka Terminal 11 takes to Miami’s Schematic Music Company to fire off his latest. With My Mind is easily one of his most measured, easily accessible records. It’s evident that he’s gone for something different on opener ‘Effervescent’ which, despite its eerie samples and complex drum patterns, sports a bouncy, almost Latin-flavoured groove. ‘Cold Storage Acid’ is fairly straight-ahead acid house, and the explosive ‘Hyperfocus’ might even inspire a fist-pump. For long time fans, Castaneda serves up his usual micro-sample madness on high-energy tracks like ‘Unbearable Disconnection’ and the melodic title track.
