Lord Skywave, real name Simon Lord, has an impressive resume. Most well-known for his vocal contributions to Simian, he is also one-half of The Black Ghosts project with Theo Keating and has also engaged in more experimental pop sounds with Lukid as part of the Arclight duo, who have put out two singles on Jacques Greene’s Vase imprint. As Lord Skylord, he explores the more esoteric end of ambient techno, and on Cardaman Copy he uses an old Tascam four-track recorder to bend minimalist, analogue riffs to his exploratory will. Released on multiple digital formats and cassette via London-based stable Astro:Dynamics, responsible for wide-ranging experimental sounds from Alis, Nenado, and Vaghe Stelle, Cardaman Copy is yet another intriguing portal into Skylord’s seductively surreal sound world.
