A late but blistering start to 2014 for South London grime label Coyote, who here put out this debut EP from Spare: a follow-up to the youngster’s appearance on their ‘Coyote Kings’ compilation, which lit up blogs at the end of 2013. The four tracks he has prepped here are sleek and bruising, with 8-bit driven UK funky on ‘Glide’, ambient synths and dubstep bass on ‘Venom’ and a shuddering title track worthy of Ikonika’s mighty ‘Aerotropolis’ album. For anyone who likes their beats as harsh as they are luminous this is one seriously devastating EP.
