As part of their Classic Edition series, Chiwax reissues Sneaky Tim’s legendary What’s Your Function release. In this first part Ricardo Villalobos & Heiko’s remix turns ‘Mental Kombat’ into a steady house track, with gentle hi-hats and subtle pitched down vocal elements just shining through the simple synth loop. Quirky retro-future synths respond to a saxophone motif in ‘Planet Wall’ whereas the piano and pitch-shifted vocal sample in ‘Ever Body’ symbolize the heart of Chicago House. Part 2 will include the original version of ‘Mental Kombat’ and ‘Bad Connection’ as well as a second Ricardo Villalobos & Heiko remix.
