Multidisciplinary artist Joviale returns after a long absence with a new label in Ghostly International and a new LP entitled Mount Crystal. Rather than quickly capitalising on the rising success of 2021’s Hurricane Belle EP Joviale instead quietly hunkered down, refining their practice in all areas of art in pursuit of a more fully-developed presentation reflective of their multi-hued perspective. The end result was initially a play, which was then reconfigured into Mount Crystal, an eclectic concept album of sorts that drifts gracefully between soul, jazz, rock, and electronica that invents its own worlds both sonic and narrative.
