Gauzy R&B producer Tom Krell returns with a third album of melancholy urban beats, this time with production beefed up by Rodaidh McDonald (whose previous clients include Vampire Weekend, The xx and Adele). He’s brought the same brand of arena-filling pizzazz to this lead single, which moves from downbeat steel drums (somehow this is possible) to crisp, sparkling beats and Krell’s gloomy falsetto, where he delights in the lights in his lover’s eyes and the power of her nectar kiss. It seems the unlucky in love singer has finally caught a romantic break - McDonald ensures the music is appropriately euphoric.
