Producer Stray, who is also part of the Ivy Lab trio, delivers a keen and varied EP for Exit Records. The Chatterbox EP opens with the bass heavy slink of 'Award Tour', before 'Eazy Boy' introduces an oblique hip hop strut. 'Chatterbox' wears its jungle and juke influences strongly, jumpy breaks and chopped vocals mixing with effortless energy. Final track 'Fragile' tones down the pace a little, a gentle balm of yearning vocals and wintery effects closing out a fine release.
