Jorge Velez follows up his incredible, Arabic influenced L.I.E.S debut album Hassan as Professor Genius with Territories released under his own name. Here, Velez effortlessly drifts between innumerate strands of electronic music; from the warped, minimalistic drone of opener ‘Blood And Bone’ to the heady mechanics of ‘Curves’ and library-esque synth noise on ‘Ley Lines’. The snarling ‘Festival Mounds’ would sit a little more comfortably on the dance floor whilst ‘Wrecks’ is another stripped piece of whirling sheet ambience. Lastly things wrap up on the leisurely pulse of ‘Venas’, twinkling with angelic synth notes that are like the morning sun on your face.
