Terrace returns to the De:tuned label for a new triple LP of Detroit muscle-meets-Dutch fury entitled Branches. Terrace’s early link ups with the legends of Motor City machine funk helped to establish the strong bond and cultural exchange between them back in the 90’s, which provides a neat lens through which to view Branches as a sort of tribute to those heady days. Cut from lengthy hardware-focused sessions in the studio, tracks like the insistent ‘Undertones’ and the appropriately-titled ‘Frenetic’ sound positively out-of-time as Terrace uses the framework of those referential styles to explore more modern rave textures with expert precision.
