Yorkshire’s Bambooman returns to Sonic Router Records with another strong look EP. Dulcet follows 2013’s Hollowed, and finds the young producer experimenting with more styles and tempos, always twisting them just enough to fit his slippery M.O. It takes a minute for the clipped garage bounce of ‘Clasp’ to set it, but when it does it kills, as does the post dubstep shimmy of ‘Dulcet’. Hip-Hop flavoured ‘Knox’ knocks like your favourite One-Handed Music flipside, and stomper ‘Esama’ works wonders with its colourful source sample. A bit harder to put your finger on are ‘Bodies’, a guitar plundering, 16th note assault and drone-fest ‘Cast’.
