Shadowy Manchester producer releases on Pinch's Cold Recordings, extending the already impressive list of labels that have put out his music. 'Burning Memories' is a cavernous opener, shaky 'Think' breaks lying amidst booming claps and thunderous swirls of sound. 'Switchblade' may not be novel - its two-note melody of mobile phone interference interesting if not innovative - but it's as sharp as its title. 'Trace Loops' goes deep, more drone and anguish than heavy beat-banging. 'Northern Shadows' is back on the floor though, in the same lineage of the awkward tension of the label. It's a worthy addition to Pinch's view of the hardcore continuum.
