One of only three releases from the elusive New York house duo, ‘Icy Lake’ was a 1998 sleeper for Dat Oven that found its way onto L-Vis 1990’s jukebox. The Night Slugs producer has lined up four envelope-pushing remixes here including a breathy, glitching techno hymn care of Total Freedom, an eerie footwork reinterpretation from DJ Rashad and a bonkers scraping variation from L-Vis himself. The original is included and slots nicely in with these contemporary rearrangements, showing just how prescient the two New Yorkers were back in the day.
